Asus flagship, the ZenFone 3 Deluxe (ZS570KL), is now receiving an OTA update with firmware version 4.12.40.1505. Before you get your hopes up, this is just another Marshmallow patch featuring stability and performance improvements. The camera quality is also expected to see improvements with this update.
As for the Zenfone 3 Deluxe receiving Nougat, the next major roll out can be expected around the end of Q1 2017. Asus has been beta testing Nougat the Zenfone 3 for long now, but the beta test is limited to the ZE552KL variant only.
If you own a different Zenfone variant, then check out our Nougat update list to see if your device is eligible for the Nougat update.
Competing OEMs have already beat Asus to the Nougat update, with the latest news being the Huawei P9 Lite now receiving Android 7.0, and HTC releasing the OTA update to Nougat for the One M9. Asus has a bad history of keeping its devices up to date and will need to improve to catch up to the competition.
