The Sony Xperia X Performance is receiving the much awaited Android 7.0 Nougat update with firmware build number 39.2.A.0.327. The update is rolling out to both the X Performance (F8131) and X Performance Dual (F8132).
While this a happy news, but if root is access is important to you, we’d recommend you to hold up on the update for a few days until someone knowledgeable from the community confirms if it’s easy to root the Nougat based firmware on the Xperia X Performance.
Although chances are very slim of Sony doing anything that would block root access on its devices, but since it’s a major Android upgrade, there might be structural changes in the new firmware that might require changes to the TWRP recovery or SuperSU zip.
Android 7.0 Nougat by itself is pretty easy to root with the latest version of both SuperSU and Magisk zip, but TWRP recovery might require structural changes to be compatible with the Android .0 Nougat builds for each device.
We’ll be sure to update this post with downloads and instruction to root Xperia X Performance on Android 7.0 Nougat once we find a working method for the same. Stay tuned..
