Okay, here’s the thing. Xiaomi’s MIUI 9 update is coming to India on August 16. Yes, that’s right! The Chinese company, in one of its posts on Xiaomi’s official forum has detailed that the MIUI 9 will be released on or before August 16.
Teasing the same, Xiaomi India has now posted a not-so-cryptic image on Twitter which looks like a WhatsApp conversation reading “Let’s connect better.”
What’s more important here, though, is the time the message has been sent. It wouldn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out that the company is referring to the release date which is represented by time (8:16) in the image.

So yeah, mark August 16 as the day. Xiaomi MIUI 9 is said to be based on Android Nougat and is expected to bring features like picture-in-picture mode, multi-window split-screen mode, screen recorder, and the ability to uninstall system apps to the supported devices.
Speaking of which, most of the phones upwards of Redmi Note 4 which include: Mi 6, Mi 5c, Mi MIX, Mi Note 2, Mi Pad 3, Redmi 4X, Redmi Note 4 (obviously), Redmi Note 4X, Mi 4c, Mi 4s, Mi 5, Mi 5s Plus, Mi MAX should receive the new MIUI 9 update.
