The Xiaomi Mi5C has made an appearance at Tmall, the Chinese online retailer. So, yes, it’s release is pretty close now. Definitely. Oh, ignore the price mentioned there, as we’ve seen earlier too tentative listings like this, that appear at Tmall before device’s release, and they usually come with a hefty price tag of 9999 yuan. While, the expected price of the Xiaomi Mi5C is 1500 yuan.
You may consider Mi5C as a little brother to Mi5S, but it does packs a punch when it comes to specifications. The Xiaomi Mi5C comes with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage, and is powered by an Octa-core processor clocked at 2.2 GHz.
Xiaomi has done away with the plastic build that was seen on the Mi4C of 2015, and has given the 5C a full metal build. The top and bottom of the device feature plastic though, in order to facilitate signal quality. Even mid-range and budget smartphones from Xiaomi are seeing metal builds now.
The smartphone will ship with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow out of the box. Taking into consideration how late Xiaomi gets with updating its devices, we have very slim hopes of Mi5C rocking Nougat anytime soon, or if it ever will.
In other news the Mi5 is receiving the Android 7.0 Nougat update now. Rumors of Xiaomi planning to make a curved display smartphone are making rounds now. Also Xiaomi seems to be working on a new line, the Mi Pro 2, as revealed from leaks.
