ChatGPT Dots started rolling out on September 29, 2026, beginning with eligible Pro, Business Premium and Enterprise accounts. Whether you can use it depends on your plan, region and whether the rollout has reached your account.
Even if you qualify, OpenAI says access may take several days to reach your account.
Dots is OpenAI’s always-on agent powered by GPT-6 Astra. It can keep working between conversations on its own cloud computer, then bring back results or ask for a decision when it needs you.
Dots availability across 20 major countries
The table groups countries with the same launch rules. “Rolling out” means eligible, rather than already enabled for every account. “Excluded” means left out of the initial Pro rollout. Pro access is for users over 18 on Pro 100, Pro 200 or Pro 500.

All 20 countries appear on OpenAI’s supported ChatGPT countries list. That establishes general service support; the Dots-specific rules still determine whether your plan qualifies. Being able to use ChatGPT in a country does not, by itself, settle access to Dots.
Your country is outside the excluded Pro markets. An eligible account can receive Dots during the current rollout. If the option is missing, check your plan and allow for the gradual rollout before assuming India needs a separate launch.
When will excluded regions and more plans get access?
OpenAI intends to expand Dots to more users, but its launch announcement gives no dated Pro rollout for the EEA, UK or Switzerland. It also gives no release date for Free, Go or Plus. A promise to expand cannot tell you which week to expect access.
The launch also includes Edu and Healthcare in the Enterprise beta route, with admin enablement required.
Why don’t I see Dots if my region qualifies?
Check these four things before assuming a regional delay.
Rollout Has your account received it?
OpenAI is enabling accounts gradually. Its Help Center says this can take several days, without promising a date for each person.
Plan Is it Business Premium?
Check the exact subscription. The launch rules name Business Premium, so not every Business account qualifies.
Plan Are you on another plan?
Free, Go, Plus and standard Business are absent from the current eligibility list. These plans need an expansion of eligibility, rather than the rollout to qualifying accounts.
Admin Has your Enterprise admin enabled it?
The beta permission must apply to your account. Ask your workspace admin to check it.
Enterprise: where your admin can check the permission
In Workspace settings → Permissions & roles, your admin should check Use dots (Beta). Access can be granted through the workspace default or a custom role, so the permissions applying to you matter.
Dots access is separate from permission to use apps, cloud capabilities or your local computer. If Dots appears but cannot complete a connected task, the missing permission may concern that task. Enabling Dots alone does not connect an app or sign you into a website.
Check and create your dot on desktop first
- Start on desktop. Use a desktop browser or the ChatGPT desktop app. Open Dots and follow its introduction when the option becomes available.
- Choose your connections. You can connect email, calendar and files during onboarding, or skip them and add them later. The desktop app also offers the choice to connect your computer.
- Give it something useful to handle. Provide an ongoing responsibility and the source material it needs. Review its first result before expanding its responsibilities. You can also personalize its name and appearance.
You do not have to configure every app connection before starting the conversation.
After desktop setup, use the same dot in the ChatGPT mobile app when the supporting update is available. Mobile web does not support Dots. Try desktop setup before deciding your country is unsupported.
What about Slack, Teams and texting?
Slack and Microsoft Teams are supported contact methods, but they need to be connected through your dot’s profile. Texting is listed as coming soon, with no launch date in the guidance. These channel differences are separate from whether your account has received Dots.
Does upgrading guarantee access, and does Dots cost extra?
Your first dot is included with Pro or Business Premium without a separate Dots charge. Deeper work has an allowance and extended introductory limits; inclusion does not mean unlimited work.
- Conversations with your dot do not count toward ChatGPT usage limits.
- Tasks it starts or manages in Work or Codex count toward those products’ limits as usual.
The Help Center separately describes a first-month concession for Dots usage and says later usage terms will follow. Check the current plan terms before treating an introductory allowance as permanent.

These are the documented plan prices, rather than quoted local checkout totals. Buying a higher Pro tier does not change the regional exclusions applying to all three tiers.
Check regional eligibility. A subscription won’t establish access in an excluded market or promise immediate activation. Work and Codex have their own access rules, so access to either doesn’t prove Dots has reached your account.
Does your computer need to stay on?
Dots has its own cloud computer and browser. Connecting your personal computer is a separate choice.

Why your dot may still ask for a sign-in or app connection
Its cloud browser has separate website sessions. Signing into a site on your laptop does not automatically sign your dot in. Adding Slack as a place to message the dot does not grant access to your inbox or other apps. Receiving the feature and connecting what you want it to use are different steps.
Once a dot is working, open its profile and select Activity to inspect progress. If it is waiting for a connection, sign-in, decision or approval, respond to continue. A task waiting for input is different from an account that has not received Dots.
