Last month a Xiaomi phone with model number MDG2 cleared FCC certification. At that time rumors were rife about this device to be Xiaomi Mi 5X. Now Mi 5X has seen the light of the day last month on July 26th and clearly does not carry MDG2 model number. This brings us back to square one guessing which phone could MGG2 be. The answer has arrived.
The phone with model number MDG2 is the yet to released Xiaomi Mi A1. The confirmation comes from the company’s official website. Xiaomi, via its RF (radio frequency) Exposure page, has revealed the MI A1 handset which carries MDG2 model number.
Now that Xiaomi Mi A1 has cleared FCC certification, we believe its launch is just round the corner. Sadly, other the battery capacity of 3000mAH, we do not know anything the phone. Based on educated guess we can say it will be an affordable device from Xiaomi. For more on the phone, we have to adopt a wait and watch policy.

Meanwhile, Xiaomi has kept itself busy with other budget and high-end devices. In line is Redmi Note 5 and Redmi Note 5A with the former releasing on August 21. We also have the high-end Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 which is slated for release in Q4 this year.
