Xiaomi has this year launched a multitude of Mi 8 phones and one of them is the Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite, which came to life in September 2018. The phone’s presence on the global market has been dotted since then, but this is about to end thanks to the latest MIUI 10 beta update.
According to the MIUI 10 8.11.22 changelog preview that went live earlier today, users of the Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite can finally join the global beta program, suggesting that the phone’s dotted availability across the globe is no more.
The global Mi 8 Lite currently has the stable MIUI 9.6.5 update available, but since the incoming MIUI 10 update is beta, upgrading to the latter from the former won’t be such a straightforward thing, but not the most difficult tasks out there.
Once Xiaomi provides the fastboot download file, installing the update on your device should be as easy as you can imagine, but of course, you’ll need an unlocked bootloader for this to work, something that could take about two weeks before Xiaomi grants you permission to unlock. That said, you might want to start preparations ASAP by heading over to one of the pages linked above, which has a detailed guide on how to install MIUI 10.
