We had previously reported the occasion when Xiaomi released the MIUI 10 beta for the Mi 8 Lite phone. Now, we’re glad to break the news that a stable MIUI 10 version is now rolling out for the Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite but it’s not based on Android Pie if you were hoping for that as the update runs Android 8.1 Oreo underneath the beautiful MIUI 10 skin.
Bearing the software version V10.0.3.0.ODTMIFH and weighing in at 1.62GB (full firmware size), and you can download the Mi 8 Lite MIUI 10 update here on your Mi 8 Lite phone. To install, see our Mi 8 update page for the guide.

The changelog mentions several changes to your phone’s UI including the addition of full-screen gestures that is aimed at replacing buttons for a faster and more convenient operation. It boasts of letting content hog the limelight in a full-screen experience.
Other additions include a revamp of the sound system with the new and ‘ever-changing’ sounds. The Smart filter only notifies you about important notifications through the pleasing sounds of nature like forest, beach, summer night, and more.
One last big addition is the AI pre-loading, purported to make your phone respond to your ‘touch’ faster for an overall snappier and smoother touchscreen experience owing to the high swipe response rate.
The OTA update runs at about 423MB — although this may vary depending on the current version on your phone — and to get it, you can try this.
Tap on ‘Settings’, followed by ‘About phone’, then ‘System update’ and finally ‘Check for updates’. Once the update is visible, tap on ‘Download’ and then on ‘Install now’ once the download is complete. Your phone will reboot upon successful installation and you’ll be notified of the same.
