Directive 8020 officially launches on May 12, 2026, for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC. The game is the next entry in The Dark Pictures Anthology and shifts the series toward sci-fi survival horror inspired by films like Alien and The Thing.

The title introduces several new gameplay systems compared to earlier Dark Pictures games. Players can freely explore parts of the spaceship Cassiopeia, evade shape-shifting alien threats, and use the new “Turning Points” feature to rewind major decisions and explore alternate outcomes.
