Torrez is one of the most important NPCs for players interested in learning magic early in Gothic 1 Remake. Torrez’s first location in the Old Camp
When you first arrive in the Old Camp, Torrez is usually found in the southern market district, the area filled with merchants and stalls covered by hanging cloth. He stands near traders such as Mordrag, Fisk, and Dexter. This is where you’ll normally meet him for The Price of Magic quest.
How to reach him
Enter the Old Camp through the main gate. Walk toward the large merchant area in the southern section of the camp.
Look around the covered marketplace and nearby benches. You will find him walking by in the evening.
If you cannot see him immediately, check inside the nearby huts, especially during rainy weather. Community reports indicate that he occasionally stands indoors rather than outdoors.
Torrez’s second location after his quest
After completing The Price of Magic, Torrez often relocates to the castle section of the Old Camp. Players have reported finding him near the church/temple area inside the castle grounds, close to the Fire Mages’ quarters.
How to find him there
Enter the castle district of the Old Camp. Head toward the temple or chapel area.
Check the small alleyways around the church and Fire Mage buildings. Look around the courtyard where Fire Mages gather.
Several players have specifically found him in a narrow passage between the temple and Gomez’s keep.

Finding Torrez if he seems missing
If you’ve already spoken to him and can’t find him in the marketplace, head directly to the castle district and search around the temple area. Most reports of a “missing” Torrez occur because he has already moved from the market to the castle after quest progression.
