Where to Find the Tulum Treasure in Black Flag Resynced

The map points you to Tulum, but the dig prompt will only appear after the matching treasure map is in your inventory. Once you have it, the fastest route is from Tulum’s sync point: drop into the water, swim back to land, then follow the beach-side path toward the baskets and barrels until you see the small sand patch in the grass.

The practical marker is not a huge chest model sitting in the open. Look for the little pale sand patch tucked into the grass near the beach props; that is where the Dig Up prompt appears.

Fast travel to Petite Caverne, then move through the cave area where the treasure map is found.

Fast travel to Tulum

Go to Tulum on the far west side of the map and fast travel to its sync point.

Drop into the sea

From the sync point, jump down into the water below.

Swim back to land

Swim toward the land behind the sync point, heading for the beach-side route.

Turn right on shore

Once you reach land, head to the right along the path.

Cut left by the beach props

Turn left past the baskets and barrels near the grass.

Stop at the sand patch

Stand on the small sandy patch in the grass and use the Dig Up prompt.

Route from Tulum’s fast travel point

Start at Tulum’s synchro point after you have the Petite Caverne map. Jump straight into the sea from the viewpoint, then swim toward the land behind it instead of running inland through the settlement.

When you come out of the water, head right first. The route then bends left by a cluster of baskets and barrels. That turn is easy to overshoot because the actual dig spot is just a modest sand patch sitting in the grass, not a big marked mound.

The broader orientation matches the southern beach area of Tulum, near the shipwreck and watchtower side of the island. Use those as backup landmarks, but let the baskets, barrels, grass, and small sandy patch guide the final few steps.

Tulum treasure reward

The reward commonly appears as the Fire Barrel Storage ultimate plan with 3,000 Reales. Some Resynced reward tables show 3,600 Reales or attach a harpoon blueprint to the same Petite Caverne-to-Tulum map, so the exact payout and blueprint label are the only messy part of this otherwise fixed treasure location.

Either way, the chest is worth grabbing because it gives you a ship-upgrade plan plus a solid Reales payout for a very short trip once the map is collected.

Common Tulum treasure problems

If there is no Dig Up prompt at 40, 372, the usual reason is that the Petite Caverne map has not been collected yet. Black Flag Resynced still follows the map-first rule for buried treasure, so simply standing at the correct coordinates is not enough.

The second common miss is searching the wrong side of the beach landmark. The chest is not dug up from the shipwreck itself; it is at the small sandy patch near the grass and beach clutter, with the southern beach, watchtower, and wreck area acting as broader orientation.

Slow down once you pass the baskets and barrels. The prompt appears only when Edward is close to the exact patch, so a few steps too far along the grass or beach can make the spot look empty.
