Samsung has finished rolling out the stable Android 9 Pie update for the Galaxy S9/S9+, Galaxy Note 9 and the Galaxy S8/S8+ as well as the Galaxy Note 8 in almost all regions as far as the global model is concerned — the wait for the Galaxy S8, S8+, and Note 8 users continue in the U.S, though.
Verizon had released the Pie update for the Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus as well about a month ago and today, the Verizon-branded Galaxy S9 and S9+ are receiving a second update with Android 9 Pie along with One UI.
The new update, identified as version CSAG in sort, is rolling out as an OTA as we speak. All we know so far about the update is that it ups the security patch level on the devices to February 2019. Verizon is yet to formally acknowledge the update, thus we don’t have an official changelog yet.
The update’s software version is G960USQS3CSAG for the S9 while that for the S9+ is naturally G965USQS3CSAG.
Users should be receiving the update notification on their devices currently; however, if you haven’t yet received the update notification, then you might have to check for the update manually.
To check for the update manually, simply head over to Settings > Software update > Download and install. Wait for the device to check for the update and then tap on download.
