Google announced the latest version of the Android operating system, the Android Oreo last week on the day of the solar eclipse. While unlocked variants of Pixel and Pixel XL have received the Oreo update, carrier locked devices have now started receiving Oreo update.
Starting today, Verizon has pushed Android Oreo update for Google Pixel and Pixel XL. The update, which arrives as version OPR6.170623.012 and OPR6.170623.012 for Pixel and Pixel XL respectively, should reach your device soon.

In case you are too impatient to wait, you can check for the update manually by heading to Settings > About device > System updates.
It is advisable to connect to a good Wi-Fi network before downloading the update and keep your handset charged as high as 50 percent.
Android 8.0 Oreo brings features such as picture-in-picture (PIP) mode, Notifications Visual Cleanup, Notification Badges, Always-On Display Updates, Instant Apps, and Autofill for apps. You can read more about Oreo features here.

Meanwhile, Google Pixel devices will also receive Android P next year, as confirmed by Google. While Pixel devices will receive security updates till 2019, no new Android OS will grace Pixel devices after Android P.
