The Toxinburst Rod Rod is the one to reach for when you want progress without sitting at the keyboard. You pick it up from the NPCs at the Toxic Grotto, and its whole appeal is what happens while you stand still: the rod’s mushroom bursts pop on their own every so often, each one pulling a random fish from the surrounding area.

Travel to the Sunken Relic, the single place where rod upgrades happen.
Place your Dripstone essence
Slot in the essence you collect from Dripstone to power the upgrade.

Two systems pair naturally with it. Harpoon guns are the backbone of hunting in The Deep, and the Roaming Fish rules make fish visible underwater so you can spear them directly, with each region’s usual rarity odds still applying. On top of that, active codes hand out free skins and gear, and the Fischfest event brings Sunshell currency and event-only rods — treat those event rewards as time-limited, since it is not clear the event is still running alongside The Deep.
