Motorola has been visibly quiet lately with no new phones announced for this year, maybe because of the restructuring they’re going through under Google’s leadership, but a few upcoming Motorola phones have now been found lurking around – codenamed Ghost, Yeti, and Sasquatch.
The Motorola Ghost was found on the benchmark site GLBenchmark with AT&T branding, though rumours suggest the device will be headed to all four major US carriers. The specs of the Ghost listed on GLBenchmark include a quad-core 1.7GHz Snapdragon S4 Pro (MSM8960) processor, a 720p (1280 x 720) HD display with onscreen navigation buttons, and Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean, all of which point towards a device similar in specs to Google’s Nexus 4.
There’s not much info on the Yeti and Sasquatch, except that both will run on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and are headed to AT&T (though a release on other carriers isn’t denied nor confirmed). The Sasquatch was recently spotted on 0xbenchmark, so there is a possibility we may find out something about its specs in the coming days, but for now these two remain quite mysterious.
That’s all the info there is on the Ghost, Yeti, and Sasquatch, but we’ll be on the lookout for more as always. People have been anticipating what Motorola will come up with after their acquisition by Google, though with Google having recently said that Motorola still has a few uninspiring devices in the pipeline that they intend to flush out, I wouldn’t get too excited just yet.
