This Moto G5 Plus leak is FAKE! And specs are rubbish!

A couple of very blurry images with a purported specsheet of the Moto G5 Plus have leaked on the web today, along with specs, but a little bit of research shows that they are fake.

In fact, the images belong to Moto Z Play, and here is some proof below for your eye-feast too. You may notice that the front panel of the leaked G5 Plus and the Z Play is exactly same. Exactly. Same.

Notice the set of front camera, earpiece and proximity sensor above the display panel is exactly same as that of the Moto Z Play. In case you are able to spot the absence of antenna lines on the G5 Plus which is there on Z Play, that’s just Photoshop work. Because, in other pic, the antenna is easily visible.

Furthermore, at the bottom, the location of mic and fingerprint sensor is exactly same too, which only adds to suspicion about the G5 Plus leak.

What’s your take on this?

The rumor — although we consider as untrue, totally! — pits the codename of the G5 Plus as Trairlir, and lists the specs too which is provided below.

  • 5.7 inch
  • 5 GB of RAM
  • 21.7 MP Back Camera
  • 8 MP Front Camera stabilization, Dual LED ,
  • 64 GB internal memory expandable to 128 GB with optional external micro SD card
  • Wireless charging with 4100 mAh battery
  • faster fingerprint scanner
  • Rapid Charging

Well, 5GB RAM looks out of sorts but we wouldn’t rule out 3/4GB options, coupled with 32/64GB storage receptively. Moreover, 5.5-inch looks more like G5 Plus.

The rumor has the price listed at $299, which is kind of obvious if you are following Moto G series. Lastly, as per the leak, the announcement from Motorola about the G5 and G5 Plus is to be expected at MWC 2017, which is where we also expect Samsung to launch Galaxy S8 and S8 plus.
