LG started rolling out the first Android Oreo update for LG V20 users towards the end of July 2018. A week later, the OS arrived on the device’s Sprint variant and a couple of weeks ago, it was Verizon’s turn to dish out the Oreo OTA to the device, close to a month after the update arrived on the AT&T model.
Now, the latest to join the party is T-Mobile, where the Magenta carrier says the update started rolling out yesterday as an OTA carrying software version H91820f. Besides installing a new OS, the update that integrates the latest Android security patches alongside various other system improvements.
Surprisingly, the LG V20 was the first device to be launched with Android Nougat preinstalled, but it took the company about a year to begin rolling out the Oreo update, something that must have left many quite frustrated. But at least, the update is finally here for those of you using the V20 on T-Mobile.
Since it’s one of LG’s flagship phones, the V20 is entitled to a second major OS upgrade in Android 9 Pie, but considering how long it took the company to update the device to Oreo, the wait for Pie might go all the way up to Q2 or even Q3 2019.
