T-Mobile Galaxy S5 Marshmallow update is available as firmware (G900TUVU1GPE1)

Even though the Galaxy S5 is now 2 years old, Samsung is still supporting it with updates, even as big one as Marshmallow. That’s incredibly great of Samsung as most of the devices from most of the OEMs get forgotten after a while, which is around 18-24 months. Hence, hats off to Sammy for updating the Galaxy S5 sets wherever possible, as in some cases, like that of Verizon and AT&T Galaxy S5 sets, given the (poor) history of the carriers, you can’t blame Samsung for not releasing the Marshmallow update for those two devices.

Today, two Galaxy S5 variants are receiving the Android 6.0 update, one in India (model no. SM-G900i), and other one is that of T-Mobile in USA (SM-G900T). The build no. of T-Mobile S5 is G900TUVU1GPE1, while there are two builds for India S5: G900IDDU1CPD2 and G900IDDU1CPE2.

Download Galaxy S5 Marshmallow update firmware

While the company is under process to roll the OTA update carrying Marshmallow build, we won’t blame you if you want it sooner. We’ve got the firmware available for download at our Galaxy S5 firmware page provided right above, from where you could grab the Marshmallow build for these two S5 variants right away, and install them yourself to upgrade your Galaxy S5 to Marshmallow now without waiting for OTA updates, which could take 2-4 weeks to complete rollout.

The Marshmallow update brings it with some of the best features Android devices have witnessed so far. You get App permissions management to have greater control over apps abuse, Doze mode for extended battery life, Google Now’s Now On Tap, etc. all of which make Marshmallow a very desirable update.
