It’s a good day for Samsung Galaxy S8 owners at Sprint who have started getting a new update which brings a few nice goodies to the table.

First off, we should mention the update bumps the software onboard to version G950USQU5CRIB and includes the October security patch. The new build weighs 402.94MB. It’s only fair to say that the update should be already live for the Galaxy S8+ users too, as build G955USQU5CRIB, even though we don’t have a confirmation on that yet.

On top of the security patch, the CRIB update brings three major features. The first one is AR Emoji and was introduced with the Galaxy S9. This is a tool that essentially creates an animated 3D model of your face, which you can then customize however you want. It has been called Samsung’s answer to Apple’s Animoji.

Next, the Galaxy S8 at Sprint is getting VoLTE for better sounding voice calls. Users can turn on the VoLTE feature for simultaneous data and call by going to Settings > Connections > Voice networks > VoLTE.

Last, but certainly not least, the 2017 flagship is getting the super slow motion recording feat that was also introduced with the Galaxy S9. Super slow-mo records video at 960fps in 720p resolution. And now it’s here for Sprint Galaxy S8 users to take advantage of.

The update is in the process of rolling out, so make sure you keep an eye on your phone for the notification.

Some of you may be wondering about the prospect of the next big update for the device, which would be the Android Pie based Samsung Experience 10 update from Samsung, well, know all about that include the expected release date on our Galaxy S8 update page here.
