Another Sony smartphone is getting the Android Oreo update. This time, it’s the Xperia X Performance that was released in June last year. Sony recently released the Oreo update for the Xperia XZ and XZs.
Sony is doing a great job with delivering software updates to most of their flagship phones. It was the first OEM to release Android Oreo software for a smartphone, after Google. The Xperia XZ Premium got the Oreo update in October this year.
The software version of the Xperia X Performance Oreo update is 41.3.A.0.401. The build number is the same as the Oreo update for the Xperia XZ and XZs. It will install the latest November Android patch as well. You will find all of the Oreo features such as Picture-in-Picture, Smart Text selection, Auto-fill, App shortcuts, Notification dots, and more in this update. Also included, are some Xperia features such as Xperia Actions, and Reminders.
It is available as an OTA update to users, and since this is a phased roll-out, we are not sure when you will get it. Don’t worry though, as it should be available within a week. As this is a major software update, the file size is going to be large. Make sure you download it over a Wi-Fi connection, if you don’t want to use up all your Cellular data.
Earlier today, HTC also released the Oreo update for their HTC U11 flagship smartphone. The Sony Xperia XZ and XZs Oreo update firmwares are now available for download, if you want to do a manual install.
