Silent Hill: Townfall Upper Brae Safe, Required Items, and Combination

You start with a damaged desk note and follow a sequence of tapes, numbered messages, and a floppy disk. Watch which tape is active. That matters when you retrieve the key and access the disk’s file.

Inspect the safe and play Today and Yesterday

Inspect the locked safe

Examine the locked safe, then read the damaged note on the desk. Its heading reads TODAY MY NUMBER WAS:.

Play Tape: Today

Use the TapeLinc transcription player and select Play to play Tape: Today.

Collect Tape: Yesterday

Pick up Tape: Yesterday from the open box on a bedside table. Its item description identifies it as a small tape usable with a transcription player.

Play Tape: Yesterday

Insert Tape: Yesterday into the player and select Play to start playback.

Collect Tomorrow and read the numbered notes

Find Tape: Tomorrow

Collect Tape: Tomorrow from the open case on the living room table. This small tape also works with the transcription player.

Read the dining table note

Pick up and read the note on the dining table. It reads TODAY MY NUMBER WAS: 192.

Play Tape: Tomorrow

Load Tape: Tomorrow into the player and start playback. The playback interaction displays Stop.

Read the hallway note

Collect the note in the hallway and read its message: TODAY MY NUMBER WAS: 125.

Retrieve the Back Door Key and Ammonite Disk

In the kitchen, an open case contains Tape: Do Not Play. Despite its name, it’s another small tape compatible with the transcription player.

Collect Tape: Do Not Play

Pick up Tape: Do Not Play from its case.

Retrieve the Back Door Key

Take the Back Door Key from the kitchen sink. Its description identifies it as the key for the back door at 5 Upper Braes.

Open the back door

Use the key to unlock the back door before going out to collect the disk.

Collect the Ammonite Disk

Pick up the Ammonite Disk from the outside table. It’s a floppy disk usable in a floppy disk reader.

Access Current Count and open the safe

Check the tape state again here. When you open Current Count, you’ll see 6 Mar 1996 as its date and TXT as its file type.

Enter the safe combination

Turn the safe’s tumbler dials to 129. The lock reads the row just below the top of the dials, so when the code is right the top row shows 2 3 0; select Confirm to enter it.

Collect the locker ticket

Confirming 129 opens the safe. Collect Barcode (Upper Brae) from inside—it’s your ticket for Locker 94.
