Samsung is said to be all set to launch the Samsung Pay Mini in January 2017, with the trials in Korea all done and given a green flag. But Samsung’s pay service hit a bummer today as Apple rejected Samsung’s application to list the Samsung Pay Mini app for iPhone on the app store.
Samsung has decided to not reapply, BTW, and is said to be focusing on Android only now, which covers 85% smartphone market.
It seems Apple didn’t specify the main reason behind the rejection, and while it could be that there is an issue with Apple’s security policies and regulations, but Samsung right now believes it’s futile to reapply.
This could have to do with Apple Pay, a competing service to Samsung Pay, which the iPhone maker is looking to release in Samsung’s home-ground, Korea, in first half of 2017, too.
The mobile payment system is another platform where the two giants of tech industry would fight each other, but the greatest fight remains with smartphone releases, with Samsung looking to release the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus next year in March.
