Even though Google is yet to announce Android’s next updtae, which could be Android 4.4.3, or Android 4.5, there is already a rumor developing that Samsung is currently testing the Android 4.4.3 update on its latest flagship, the Galaxy S5.
If wondering how is that even possible, well, that’s because Google has a good habit of sharing its Android update releases with the core Android OEM partners (Samsung, HTC, LG, Motorola, Sony, etc.) a bit before the announcement of the same, to help OEMs bring the update as soon as possible.
So, yeah, if Samsung is testing Android 4.4.3 already, then there is equal chance of HTC working on HTC One M8’s Android 4.4.3 update as well, and Motorola looking again to beat all other OEMs with quick Android 4.4.3 update for the Moto X, like it did with Android 4.4.2.
Anyway, back to Samsung devices because we just have to, the other device than Galaxy S5 that’s getting lined up — even though it’s surprising — for the Android 4.4.3 Udpate is, the last year’s Galaxy S4 LTE-A, model no. GT-I9506. Sure, once the device name is read fully along with the model no., many (read: most) Galaxy S4 users will get that feeling: oh! missed by that much.
The GT-I9506 model is the least popular and less-sold model of Galaxy S4 line, and popular models like S4 LTE (I9505) and one housing Exynos processor (I9500) have nothing on Android 4.4.3 yet. But don’t worry, Samsung’s software department doesn’t have the tightest of security and it should get breached again very soon for info on Android 4.4.3 update for the popular Galaxy S4 models soon.
Btw, it could happen that Samsung might skip the Android 4.4.2 update for I-9506 and directly get it Android 4.4.3. Rumors don’t know for certain! There are some other devices that could get that treatment too, like, Galaxy Mega (5.8 and 6.3), Grand 2, etc. for whom, Android 4.4.2 is under final testing and 4.4.3 — the small update it is! — might already be worked upon.
