If you have bought a Samsung Galaxy A50 at Verizon, you may already be wondering when it will receive the Android 10 update, formerly Android Q. When will Samsung release Android 10 for A50
- April 08: Released for the A50 handsets in Canada
- March 16: Released for A50 handsets too
- February 13: Android 10 released for A50s
- The A50 sets may also receive Android 11 update
The Android 10 update is now available for the Samsung Galaxy A50 as build BTC4, with the software version being A505FDDU4BTC4. The Android 10 update is also available for the Samsung Galaxy A50s, coming in as build BTB2, and the full software version being A507FNXXU3BTB2.
Launched with Android Pie, both the A50 and A50s, both the sets have received the Android 10 update from Samsung. And we think they are a candidate for the Android 11 update too like the flagship handsets, the Galaxy S10 and Galaxy Note 10.
However, when you talk about the Sprint and Verizon A50, the carriers will be doing some testing of their own, and thus have a say in the release date too. Because of the extra testing, the Android 10 update for Sprint and Verizon A50 handsets might be delayed by some time. Hence, for the Sprint and Verizon A50, the Android 10 update could begin rolling out in April-May 2020.
One UI 2.0
Samsung’s Pie update came with the company’s custom skin called One UI. Now, the Android 10 update is arriving as One UI 2.0, a successor to the original One UI OS. Of course, it’s similar to the original One UI, and there are not many changes in the new version, but you will get some new features like Link to Windows, native Screen Recorder, new navigation gestures, slightly redesigned Quick Settings panel UI, etc.
The One UI 2 update is available for both the A50 and A50s handsets as part of the Android 10 update, which has been released for both the devices now.
