Xiaomi has released new updates for the recently launched Redmi 6 and Redmi 6A. The two are receiving stable MIUI updates that have nothing to do with the latest MIUI 10 update, but they install versions 9.6.19 and 9.6.18, respectively.

The updates are available over the air for both devices, but we also have the recovery files for those who are comfortable with doing a manual update. Also, a manual update means you don’t have to wait for days before the OTA shows up on your device.

MIUI 10 stable update

In China, both the Redmi 6 and Redmi 6A have already made the switch to stable MIUI 10, but this is because they have been selling in the country for quite some time now. At the launch event in India, Xiaomi promised the global update will arrive soon, but for now, you’ll have to make do with the latest MIUI 9 stable update for either device, which is better suited for daily use than the much-anticipated MIUI 10 beta.

In fact, the stable version of MIUI 10 could take between four and eight weeks before it arrives on both the Redmi 6 and 6A, so sit tight.
