Oppo R9s Plus visits Antutu with Snapdragon 653 SoC and 6GB RAM in tow!

A new listing at Antutu brings us the Oppo R9s Plus. While the device’s variant in R9s is no stranger to Antutu, this is first the Plus model of the R9s has made the cut to Antutu. And already rocking the Snapdragon 653 processor is some statement we’d say. Because, the processor was only announced today by Qualcomm, and it looks like Oppo’s R9s Plus will be the first to bring it to the market. Earlier, it was rumored to come with Snapdragon 652 chipset.

And then there is 6GB of RAM aboard too.

The model no. of this buddy is R6037 BTW. The device is running on Android 6.0, and given Oppo’s track record with Android updates, we aren’t surprised at all that it won’t come with Android 7.0 pre-installed. May be a CM14 ROM will get R9s that privilege.

Oppo is expected to unveil the device soon, on October 19, and its cool antenna design and dual-camera setup are what will be its talking feature.

We’re already liking the R9s a lot, and with newly announced powerful 653 chip thumping inside, the deal got a bit more cooler now.

What do you say?

Oppo has been releasing devices one after another like all Chinese companies, where only one company really stands out, the OnePlus. Recently, they updated their hugely popular set OnePlus 3 with OxygenOS 3.5.4 community beta, and are promising quicker Android 7.0 update too.
