OnePlus is issuing a new update to its OnePlus X users, upgrading the software version on their device on Marshmallow to OxygenOS 3.1.4. The update is already live as an OTA, and should be available download too pretty soon.

The 3.1.4 update fixes the auto-brightness issue with the device and launcher force close errors, while patching the OnePlus X with November security fixes.

The OxygenOS 3.1.4 update for OnePlus X also improves system performance and quashes general bugs too.

The update isn’t available as Full ROM or OTA yet, but keep an eye on our OnePlus X update page for that, as once it is available, we will share the OTA and Full ROM zip files on that page.

OnePlus has confirmed that because of hardware compatibility issues, OnePlus X Nougat update remains a miss with Android 7.0 Nougat update in future. Though, the device will continue to receive feature-rich updates based on Marshmallow for good period of two years.

Though, OnePlus has confirmed the OnePlus 3 Nougat update — they even previewed it recently — and the team is quite busy right now to release the OnePlus 3T.
