It’s just been a fortnight since the unveiling of OnePlus 6T but rumor mills are already up and about doing what they do best – speculating what the next phone might look like! With the OnePlus 6T going the tear-drop notch way, it is being surmised that the next step up for OnePlus will be to sport an in-display selfie camera in a notch-less design on the OnePlus 7!
It is no news that the new trend in displays, the notch design, hasn’t been well received by a large part of the Android community who brazenly call it ugly. It was therefore pivotal to move away from the notch and come up with something more acceptable. Oppo, OnePlus’ parent company had revealed an in-display camera setup for its Oppo R19 phone and it may as well become mainstream.

There are also reports popping up that OnePlus 7 may not be the first OnePlus phone to support 5G connectivity but rather a different device from a new series altogether which may be unveiled at the MWC 2019 in February.
It is thought that the OnePlus 7 will sport a 95% STB ratio in addition to the in-display fingerprint sensor and the tiny 24MP camera sensor on the top-center. New concept renders also point toward a tri-camera setup at the back — 24MP+12MP+8MP — one each of standard lens, telephoto lens, and an ultrawide lens. The phone may also come with a massive 4150mAh battery.
While we’re all excited by future possibilities, this news must be taken with a grain of salt as it’s mere speculation and a manifestation of rumor mills. Sure, we expect to see some major upgrades and new technologies in 2019 but pinning your hopes on these rumors won’t be prudent either.
