OnePlus 6T was launched by the company yesterday and besides the improvements in the design, fingerprint sensor and battery, the software has been given few features too, especially in the camera department. The OnePlus 6T camera comes with new features like Nightscape and studio lighting, but these features are now available for the OnePlus 6 users, too.
OnePlus today released the Open Beta 6 update for the OnePlus 6 users. Not all OnePlus users will get the update because you need to manually install the beta update unless you are already on a beta OS.
The highlight of this Open Beta 6 update is the features that have been added to the camera. The OnePlus 6 camera now has Nightscape and Studio Lighting features which bring lots of improvement to low-light and nighttime photography. Nightscape can be considered as OnePlus’ answer to Google’s Night Sight feature in Pixel 3 that lights up the dark scenarios to capture a better pic, too.

Other than that, as the loss of app switching shortcut on the previous system was a big complaint from users but that has been addressed with new navigation gestures. You simply swipe up from the center and hold it then flick over to the right and release. This will switch you between your current app and most recent one. Animations when using the gestures have also been greatly improved.
The About phone screen in the Settings is seeing improvement too. You are presented with the basic details of your device and on top of that, you get additional software information like the OxygenOS version and the build number. Other details like IMEI, security patch status and IP can be accessed in the status submenu.
The Android security has been updated to 2018.11 (November security patch) based on Android 9 Pie to ensure the device is running on the latest security patches. This has come even before Google’s announcement.
We all love taking quick screenshots and thanks to this new update, the experience during the taking of screenshots is also now improved.
The stock launcher has also seen some change in that there is a new design for the Google quick search box. The Gallery has also been made much smoother with improved zooming gesture and magnification.
