Finally, you spoke Google. Phew! Android One users have been asking Google for the Android 5.0 Lollipop update, which was officially released for Nexus devices early in November 2014. Google had made promises to Android One users to provide timely updates to latest Android versions for upto 2 years, but kept mum on availability of the Lollipop update for Android One devices until today.

Google India has posted on twitter that Android 5.0 Lollipop update is coming in the “next few weeks” for Android One users in India. We hope they mean February only, because Indonesia will probably get the Android One devices in the next few days, and they’re chosen to get their Android One devices with Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box.

The Android One Lollipop update will be rolled out to all three Android One devices in India; Micromax Canvas A1, Karbonn Sparkle V and Spice Dream Uno. The update will be pushed as an OTA, and remember, if you availed the Airtel offer, you can download the update over your 3G data connection for free.

Android 5.0 Lollipop update will breathe new life to your Android One device, you’ll see user interface changes throughout the system. There will be a tons of new features, like the screen pinning, multi user profiles, guest user, trusted devices policy and most importantly, improved battery life.
