Have a OnePlus 5 or OnePlus 5T? Then you might want to keep an eye on them because OnePlus has just announced new open beta builds are available for the two phones. Note that this is not the Android Pie update.
The new beta builds bring a number of optimizations and improvements to the table. For starters, they include the September Android security patch. Moreover, users will be able to take advantage of an optimized UI for the Weather App.

OnePlus Switch, the company’s proprietary tool for moving data from their old device to a new OnePlus handset, has also been updated with a new manual connection method, in case the QR code one fails. Users will also get supported backup and recovery for app data including the home screen, lock screen, and APP layout.
OnePlus made sure to remind everyone that this is beta software. So these builds might not be as stable as an official OTA and come with potential risks.
Android Pie
But what about the Android 9.0 Pie update for the OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T, you might be wondering? Well, a few days ago OnePlus announced it has started rolling out the stable Pie update for the OnePlus 6.
