Everyone’s favorite budget smartphone maker, Xiaomi has started rolling out a new MIUI 10 stable update for the Redmi Note 5 and Redmi Note 5 Pro smartphones.
The new build brings software version V10.0.2.0.OEIMIFH on board of two devices. It weighs 152MB, so make sure you’re connected to a stable Wi-Fi before you attempt to download it on your device. It’s also advised that you at least have 50% battery.
Now in case you are too excited to wait, you can manually download the packages:

But what about Android 9 Pie? Will the two smartphones get the bump up to the next-version of Android? Well we have good and bad news.
For starters, we don’t expect to see the standard Redmi Note 5 get Pie treatment. Fortunately, Xiaomi devices are quite popular in the developer community, so there should be many Android Pie custom ROMs available for the device. So not all is lost.
As for the Redmi Note 5, the phone will probably get Android Pie at some point in time. The handset launched with Android 8.1 pre-installed, but even so, we can’t offer any guarantees at this point.
