Moto E (2015) gets the CM14.1 ROM based on Android 7.1.1 Nougat

The Moto E is Motorola’s lowest budget offering. There are rumors circulating that the device will make a come back next year along with the Moto C. Yesterday the Moto E (2015) received CyanogenMod 14.1 support. The custom ROM maximizes the performance of the Moto E.

The predecessor, the original Moto E also had CyanogenMod support, and this was a huge bonus for users of the first gen Moto E, as it was a bare bones device. CM 14.1 for the Moto E (2015) is a nightly build meaning that it will contain certain noticeable bugs and glitches. But those bugs should eventually be ironed out over a period of a few weeks.

The Moto E (2015) has a variety of other custom ROMs too if you aren’t satisfied with CM 14.1. As for the Moto E3 Power which launched this year, official TWRP support is available, so it shouldn’t be long before we see CyanogenMod for the E3 Power. Many more Motorola devices are in line for the Nougat update too.
