With the unveiling of the latest lineup of flagship smartphones from Xiaomi, there was also a major software overhaul announced. The Mi 8 trio this year has been launched with the upgraded MIUI 10 ROM, but apart from the flagship devices, the latest version of Xiaomi’s very own flavor of Android will also be pushed out to a bunch of current premium and mid-range smartphones.
However, one unexpected smartphone that is also being updated to MIUI 10 ROM right now is the Lenovo ZUK Z2 Plus. Yes, you read it right, the 2016 smartphone from Lenovo has been updated with the MIUI 10 Alpha (8.6.15) build unofficially, which is currently being tested by a closed-circuit of users in China. Ported to the ZUK Z2 Plus by XDA user babisai, the ROM file of 1.1GB can be flashed alongside GApps to receive support for Google Play Services and other Google apps.

The MIUI 10 ROM for ZUK Z2 Pro is only available in English and Chinese languages, with Android 8.0 Oreo as the version that you receive with the update. While calls, GPS, compass, all of the built-in apps, and several third-party apps seem to work seamlessly, there are some broken elements too. For instance, there are issues regarding high battery usage, overheating, poor camera quality, non-functional Google Play Store and more.
Nonetheless, if you want to try out the MIUI 10 ROM on your Lenovo ZUK Z2 Pro, head over to the official XDA thread and download the ROM file right now and install it using the instructions given on the page itself.
