LG set to launch G8 update to keep up with competition

In 2019, it’s difficult for smartphone manufacturers to make devices which leave a mark, something that users don’t forget overnight. While companies like Google and Samsung have been thriving under pressure, LG has struggled to maintain its foothold.

To be honest, the LG G8 wasn’t an inferior smartphone, but it didn’t really have the ‘X factor’ to woo us. Now, the company is determined to spice things up with its upcoming launch, but whether it’ll have the quality to take on the Note 10s and Pixel 4s is anyone’s guess at the moment.

LG G8X: 360 renders:(EXCLUSIVE)

As per famous leaksters OnLeaks and PriceBaba (via Trusted Reviews), the upcoming LG flagship, G8X, will come with a teardrop notch instead of G8‘s wide notch. It’ll come with a bigger 6.2-inch screen (6.1 on G8), in-display fingerprint sensor, Snapdragon 855 Plus chipset, 3.5 mm headphone jack, dedicated Google Assistant button, and almost identical camera setup.

A lot still remains to be revealed, and it’s hard to give a verdict before seeing the whole picture. The company is positively adamant about producing an impressive smartphone that delivers an immersive experience, and if LG plays its cards right, the G8X just might be the lifeline the company needs.

The device is expected to be unveiled between September 6th and 11th at IFA 2019.
