Verizon LG K4 update: April patch now available for the 2016 edition!

Verizon LG K4 2016 update

Latest Verizon LG K4 updates

Update [April 24, 2018]: Verizon is now releasing a new software update for its LG K4 users. The update, dubbed as build VS4252BA, brings the April 2018 security patch, which is good, and both LG and Verizon deserve a pat on the back for keeping a budget device updated like this with security fixes. Even the timing is pretty good, as we are also seeing some flagships receive the April patch only now.

The OTA is already rolling out, and you should be on the previous build VS4252AA — February patch one — to be eligible for 2BA update.

If you are experiencing an issue with the power button on your LG K4, then this is the update for you. The VS42512A update improves the sensitivity of the power button on the device, thus making the recognition pretty good.

LG K4 is one of the poor device available at Verizon Wireless for cheap, but it isn’t too good to be recommended. We don’t think it will ever get the currently trending Nougat update, for which care of CM14 ROM is highest ever, too!

A similar update was recently released for the LG Optimus Zone 3 too, improving the power button press on the device.

Verizon LG K4 Nougat update

The Verizon’s LG K4 (2016 edition) won’t receive the Android 7.0 Nougat update. Or Android 7.1.1, in case you were wondering.

Verizon LG K4 Oreo update

Verizon has long stopped selling the LG K4 (2016). The last major update the device received was Marshmallow, Android 6.0. There is no chance the device would see a day in Oreo, Android 8.0. or Android 8.1.
