Huawei Honor 10 has been in the headlines lately for the good reasons. First, it was the update that brought fixes for call recording and Wi-Fi issues and a few days ago, a second Android 9 Pie beta arrived on the device alongside others like Huawei P20, Mate 20 and Honor Play.

Now, there’s a new update rolling out to the Honor 10 that brings the EMUI software to version 8.1.0.170, up from the previous version 8.1.0.166. The update is rolling out over the air and brings about a number of goodies led by this month’s Android security patch.

In the update’s changelog, you also find the mention of the added support for WeChat fingerprint payments, but this will only appear for those using the chat app’s version 6.7.2 or later. The update also adds prompts to certain screens, optimizes the response speed of war games, and improves general system stability and performance.

Also receiving a new update is the Honor View 10 (V10), where the update rolling out has software version 8.0.0.202, an upgrade from the previous B199 and like the Honor 10, you are also getting the fingerprint payments on WeChat as well as the latest Android security patch for September 2018.

Both updates are airborne, meaning it may take several days before the OTA download notification shows up, so you’ll have to be a little patient before the update finally arrives on your Honor 10 or Honor V10.
