You know the reels that you and your friend share a laugh over? Instagram could soon recommend similar Reels in a new private feed for the two of you. Also called ‘Blends’, this feature will recommend Reels based on the ones you and your friend have shared with each other.
The feature was first spotted by Tech sleuth Alessandro Paluzzi and posted on X (formerly Twitter). As per the screenshot, Blends will give “Reels recommendations based on reels you’ve shared with each other and your reels interests.”

Users often send each other Reels via DMs. Based on this data, as well as the Reels a user is generally interested in, Blends will make it easier for you and your friend to discover Reels that align with your mutual interests.
Blends will work on an ‘Invite’ basis only and will remain private between two users. Either one can leave a Blend at any time.
Since this is still a feature in development, there’s no confirmation as to when Blends will roll out, or if Instagram even plans to launch it. Further updates will provide us with a better idea of when this feature could be announced. So stay tuned!
