Huawei P9 Lite Nougat update delayed due to technical issues

Avatar

There’s a disappointing news for Huawei P9 Lite users expecting a Nougat update. The planned release of Android Nougat update to P9 Lite has been postponed until March end.

Although the exact reason behind the delay is not known, technical issues seem to be at the heart of it. Notably, Huawei had officially released Nougat beta test update for P9 Lite, which probably, must have encountered a few glitches. Thus, the official and stable build of Nougat OS to the said device has been delayed.

When it comes to Android 7.0 Nougat OS, Huawei is comparatively well positioned. It has released P10 and Mate 9 smartphones with Nougat on board. Further, it has already released the Nougat update for Huawei P9, P9 Plus, Mate 8 and Huawei Nova as well.

As such, Huawei P9 Lite Nougat update getting delayed comes as a disappointment. Although, as of now it is being speculated that Huawei should commence the Nougat roll out to the device by March-end, this might get stretched to sometime in second quarter of this year.

  5. This is bad news because I am using the beta version which isn’t working fully. I cannot get mobile data, so I’m paying for data I can’t use :/ I hope it comes out soon.
