Now we can exactly know when Huawei mid-range smartphones will get updated to the latest Android OS, thanks to a Huawei roadmap leaked on the web today. The image you see above portraits Huawei’s plan as regards Android 7.0 rollout, some of which have already come true.
The images comprises of three columns: one for the beta testing rollout, the second for the end of beta period, and the third is the target launch date.
The roadmap lists dates and names of Huawei devices receiving the Android 7.0 Nougat update, topped with their own custom skin EMUI 5.0.
On top of the list is Huawei Mate 8 followed by Huawei P9 and Huawei P9 Plus. This falls in line with the Huawei Mate 9 being released with EMUI 5.0 based Android 7.0 Nougat after which the same was pushed to Huawei P9, Huawei P9 Plus, P9 Lite and Huawei Mate 8.
Huawei Nova will receive the update as early as March followed by G9 Plus and Note 8 slated for April. Honor 6X and Huawei MediaPad M3 tablet are the last ones to get the update in May.
Not mentioned in the above list, but the Huawei Honor 5C is in line to receive Nougat update shortly too, as the beta program is already live for it.
