Huawei Mate 9 Android Pie update
- Expected release date: January 2019
- Beta version now available
Huawei Mate 9, Mate 9 Pro and Mate 9 Porsche Design are in line to receive an update to Android Pie before the end of the year now that a beta program is already available for the trio. This is the series’ second and perhaps last major OS upgrade and while testing is open in China, other regions should join the party sooner or later.
For users of the standard Mate 9, you need to have at least EMUI version 8.0.0.372 in order to qualify for the OTA update. Those using the Mate 9 Pro or the Porsche Design need at least version 8.0.0.370 to qualify, so make sure you have the correct base version. Also, the OTA will only come your way if you submitted your interest to join the EMUI 9 beta program when it was announced for these devices back in October 2018.
