Huawei Mate 20 Pro is the hottest smartphone from the Chinese company, but not for long thanks to the upcoming Huawei P30 Pro.
The flagship phone has been selling in multiple countries, be it officially or unofficially, since late 2018. No matter how you got it, software updates intended for the device will always find their way to you, including the latest version that installs March 2019 security patches.
The Mate 20 Pro update is arriving as version 9.0.0.224 (C675E14R1P17) and looking at the country code in the firmware (C675) coupled with the source of the tip, this update is rolling out in India, but more regions should also get a similar update in due course.
The update weighs 130MB, which is typical for any security update that also includes bug fixes and performance improvements, but don’t expect any new feature after installing this version.
The Mate 20 Pro is one of the devices expected to join the early Android Q public beta program when it goes live in May 2019, but no, this isn’t the final word from Huawei.
Google has already revealed that the Q beta will expand to include more OEMs and devices, but given Huawei didn’t take part in last year’s Android P beta, we can’t really tell what will happen this year. I guess we’ll have to wait and find out soon.
