We’re getting closer and closer to Huawei’s highly anticipated event set for October 16, during which we’re going to see the new Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro flagships make an appearance.

Well, both models have recently leaked thus revealing the goods before the official announcement. First off, case renders showing off the more premium Mate 20 Pro have appeared online courtesy of SlashLeaks.

These images confirm that the Mate 20 Pro will feature a pretty large notch on top of the display that will house the sensors needed for unlocking the phone with a Face ID-like kind of facial recognition tech, as well as the selfie camera. On the back, we can also see the unique triple camera setup arranged in the shape of a rectangle (the flash completes the group).

As for the Mate 20, it leaked in a very short hands-on video. The biggest difference we can notice right off the bat is that the standard version appears to spot a teardrop-shaped notch. Again, there’s a similar camera arrangement to the one we’ve have spotted in the Mate 20 Pro’s press renders.

Huawei’s upcoming flagships are also expected to be the first to take advantage of the company’s new Kirin 980 chipset, which is based on a 7nm process, much like the Apple’s A12 bionic chip that powers the new iPhones.
