Around this time last year, Huawei launched the Honor V10 in China, a phone that went global as the Honor View 10.
Typically, we expect a successor around this time and apparently, the smartphone vendor is lining up a launch event on December 26th where the Honor V20 is expected to make its debut in China. As for the Honor View 20, it will be announced on January 22, 2019, in Paris, France. Just to avoid any confusions, the View 20 is simply the global variant of the V20 that will be sold in China.

Honor is already teasing the launch event on Chinese social media and accompanying the teasers are images of the Honor View 20 front panel. Looking at the images, the V20 will join the Huawei Nova 4 in rocking a punch-hole display screen, much like what Samsung already did with the Galaxy A8s.
The images also match one that has just popped up on TENAA for a device codenamed VCE-AL00. The front image shows a full-screen display that matches the all-view display panel of the View 20. It also has a camera hole in the top left corner and power and volume rockers on the right-hand side. Unlike what Honor gave us in the teasers, TENAA goes further to provide images of the back panel.
Like the Huawei P20 Pro, you are getting a vertical tri-lens camera on the back and in the same position. However, there is also a fingerprint scanner on the rear panel alongside the HUAWEI name on the bottom end directly below the camera setup.
Even better is that the TENAA listing also has specs of the View 20, which we have captured below.
Honor View 20 specs
- 6.4-inch FHD+ (2310 x 1080) TFT display
- Kirin 980 processor

Considering the Honor View 10 was built with one eye on the Huawei Mate 10, it isn’t surprising that the Honor View 20 specs sheet has a few similarities with the Huawei Mate 20. It will be interesting to see how aggressive the pricing will be this time around.
The Honor View 10 debuted in the U.S. priced at $500 and came to India priced at INR 29,999. In the UK and the rest of Europe, the View 10 launched at £450 and €500, respectively.
