January 15, 2019: Users of the Huawei Note 10 in China have a new EMUI 9.0.0.181 update available for download. The update tags along the latest monthly security patches, adds support for Bone ID, a feature that lets users of the Note 10 use their voice to unlock the device as well as make payments, adds voice commands to FlyPods Pro headsets, and fixes screen playback issues where it would occasionally turn black during multitasking.

In the new update, you also find AI-based features like AI Smart Scheduling for a superior gaming experience as well as plenty of other bug fixes and performance optimizations.

Like any other OTA update, it will take time before all Note 10 units get the nod, so be sure to remain patient. You can as well try nagging the software update button in the settings menu and you might get lucky.

Honor Note 10 Android 9 Pie update

  • Beta update rolling out
  • Stable version expected in late 2018 or early 2019

Launched with Android 8.1 Oreo preinstalled, the Honor Note 10 was never a doubt with respect to the Pie update. In fact, we expected the phone to be part of the initial wave that consisted the likes of Huawei P20, Mate 10, and Honor Play, among others, but the phablet had to wait until November 20th, which is when the second wave of devices started receiving EMUI 9.0 beta based on Android 9 Pie.

The update is coming in as EMUI 9.0.5.56 and is rolling out over the air to those who had submitted their interest when Huawei announced the program for the device in October 2018. To get the OTA, you also need to be using at least EMUI version 8.2.0.151.

With testing expected to last several weeks, we could see the stable version start rolling out towards the end of this year or early 2019.
