June 18, 2019: The Mate 10 Lite is receiving June 2019 security patches in China. The update is available as EMUI 8.0.0.368 and you must be coming from EMUI 8.0.0.367 in order to receive the OTA download notification.
Just to be clear, this update is currently seeding to model RNE-AL00 of the Mate 10 Lite.
March 28, 2019: Huawei has a new update for the Chinese variant of the Mate 10 Lite, which goes by the name Maimang 6 in China and Honor 9i in India.
The update, which is arriving as EMUI 8.0.0.366, contains plenty of changes. First is the latest March 2019 security patch and the emergency SOS feature. To enable SOS, press the power button five times in a row and your phone will then send your exact location with latitude and longitude coordinates to your contacts multiple times.
Mate 10 Lite users in China now have fixed 4-digit and 6-digit lock screen PIN options and a new battery report feature courtesy of B366. The same update also fixes the issue where Find My Phone would occasionally fail at night; updates the pre-downloaded songs to better cater to your preference; prompts the user when a recording has been finished successfully (touch it to go to the recording); optimizes the display of certain interfaces; and improves call answering performance in Baidu and AutoNavi navigation.
Also, the screen will not turn off as long as it recognizes there is a face in the camera viewfinder after the update is installed.

Huawei Mate 10 Lite Android 9 Pie update
- Android Pie expected in Q2 or Q3 2019
- Beta available in China
- It’ll be the second major OS upgrade
At launch, the Mate 10 Lite came preinstalled with Android 7.0 Nougat and has since been upgraded to Android 8.0 Oreo. Like the flagship Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro, the Mate 10 Lite will go past Oreo. The device is already testing Pie in China, the second major OS upgrade.
Given that the second major OS upgrade arrived on the Mate 9 Lite (aka Honor 6X) in Q3 2018, it’s possible that the story could repeat itself, where the Pie update would arrive on the Mate 10 Lite in Q3, if not Q2 2019.
