As per a new leak from China, the Huawei Honor 9 might feature dual camera on both front and back side of the device. The leaks also hints at Huawei keeping the 3.5mm headphone jack on the Honor 9, while most manufacturers are beginning to drop the 3.5mm pin in favor of USB Type-C for wired audio output.
The Huawei Honor 8 sported dual camera on the back, so it was pretty obvious that the successor to it (Honor 9) will feature the same. However, the rumored inclusion of dual camera on front as well totally takes the game to another level. It’ll be a huge blow to sales of other Chinese OEMs who are selling devices dual front cameras.
The Honor 9 is also expected to feature a 5.2-inch FHD 18:9 aspect ratio according to a recent leak. This puts it in line with the Galaxy S8 and LG G6 which sport similar aspect ratios. The device has received partial confirmation on the 20MP + 12MP rear shooter. As for the rest of the internals, the Honor 9 is expected to rock Huawei’s own Kirin 960 probably coupled with 4GB or 6GB of RAM.
The smartphone will undoubtedly be powered by Android 7.1.1 Nougat. And considering that the launch of the device is somewhat near to the official roll out of Android O from Google, it just might get the Android 8.0 update pretty quick as well. Huawei has a great track record of providing timely software updates for its devices.
