March 06, 2019: Honor is pushing a new security update to the Honor 7C with February 2019 patch level. The OTA update is available for models LND-AL30, LND-AL40, and LND-TL40, which are mostly sold in China. It takes time for OTA updates to reach all units, which is why those using the global Honor 7C may have to wait even longer.
The update will arrive carrying EMUI version 8.0.0.217 and requires the most immediate B216Â to qualify for the OTA update.
January 23, 2019: Users of the Honor 7C are receiving a new EMUI 8.0.0.216 update beginning with those in China. So far, the update has been released for Honor 7C variants with model numbers LND-AL30, LND-AL40, and LND-TL40 and is available over the air, meaning others may have to wait for a few days before the download notification shows up.
The update brings along a new Android security patch for January 2019 alongside the usual bug fixes and performance improvements.

Honor 7C Android 9 Pie update

The Honor 7C is an entry-level device that comes preinstalled with Android 8.0 Oreo. Although Honor hasn’t said anything, we do understand that the 7C will get at least one major Android OS upgrade, which is Android 9 Pie.
The Honor 4C got two major OS upgrades while its successor only managed one OS upgrade, so we expect that Honor will update the 7C to Pie at some point, probably in Q3 2019.
