Android 8.0 Oreo is the trending topic in the smartphone industry. Google released the Android Oreo update recently, and immediately pushed the update to unlocked Pixel and Pixel XL sets as an OTA, but ever since then, various smartphone users across the globe want to know if and when their smartphone will receive the update. And Honor 8 Pro and Honor 6X users are no different, but today, we have some exciting news to share with them as regards Android 8.0 update.
While this is something that the OEM needs to confirm from their side, we now have a new report which says that two of the most popular smartphones from Huawei’s Honor brand are said to be getting the Oreo update by early next year. Yep, those devices are Honor 8 Pro and Honor 6X.
The report comes from an XDA user shashank1320, who reportedly was present at a meetup held with fans by Huawei’s Honor team in new Delhi today, where they spoke about and confirmed that the Oreo update for Honor 6X and Honor 8 Pro is in plans.
They further revealed a release timeline too, that we can be on the lookout for the Android 8.0 release for the Honor 8 Pro by December end, and Honor 6X early 2018.
As you may or may not know, the company launched the Honor 6x last year, whereas the Honor 8 Pro was launched just a couple of months ago.
