Digital Passwords have become a norm in our modern-day society and tend to protect our private and financial data from prying eyes. With tons of services out there, most users have a good roster of around 20 to 30 passwords to take care of. This number grows as you sign up for more and more services. Thankfully, iOS allows you to save and reuse your passwords every time you need them.
However, there might be times when you need to retrieve your own password manually, either to sign in to a different device or to create a new password. Here’s how you can view all your saved passwords on your iPhone.
How to view saved passwords
Open the Settings app on your device and scroll down and tap on password.
Authenticate your identity by either using your passcode, Touch ID, or Face ID.
Once authenticated, you should see a list of all your saved passwords. Simply scroll the list to find the one you wish to view. Alternatively, you can also type in the name of the service at the top of your screen in your search bar.
What are Security Recommendations?
Apple has recently introduced a new privacy feature that helps crosscheck all your saved passwords for duplicates. Duplicate passwords are easily hackable and can put all of your accounts at risk. Previously you would have to look for duplicate passwords on your own which was a highly cumbersome process. Apple minimizes the effort required to find duplicate passwords now.
Additionally, Apple will also encrypt and cross-check your passwords with leaked databases on the internet. If your password shows up in one of the leaks then it means your account is compromised and Apple will show you information regarding the same in the ‘Security Recommendations’ section. You should change any such passwords at the earliest to maintain your privacy and account.
I hope you were able to easily find all your saved passwords using the guide above. If you face any issues, feel free to reach out using the comments section below.
